SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
Build software around
the way your business
actually works.
Applications, Integrations & Modernization
Connect specialized workflows, untangle difficult systems, and give your team software it can keep improving.
Talk to an engineer
01 / WHEN TO BRING US IN
When the software no longer fits the work.
Your workflow is too specialized for off-the-shelf tools.
The business needs applications and interfaces that reflect how people actually work.
Systems do not speak the same language.
Data is re-entered, transformed by hand, or hard to trace back to its source.
Every change touches too much.
Configuration and architecture make deployment, new environments, and integrations difficult.
Delivery depends on manual confidence.
Tests, quality checks, and clear documentation need to become part of the workflow.
02 / WHAT WE DO
Build for the next change, too.
Custom applications
Build applications and internal tools around specific operational needs, including the interfaces people use every day. Start with the workflow and deliver useful increments.
PROJECT EVIDENCE
Biotech research: custom processing, analysis, and exploration interfaces supported the lab’s specialized workflow.
Data pipelines & integrations
Connect systems, transform inconsistent data, preserve meaning and provenance, and automate manual workflows with explicit interfaces and traceable changes.
PROJECT EVIDENCE
An Elixir pipeline tracked changing spreadsheet representations so researchers could compare data without losing its history.
Application modernization
Remove architectural and configuration problems that prevent reliable deployments, new environments, or cloud migrations. Improve the parts that create friction rather than rewriting by default.
PROJECT EVIDENCE
The Azure migration required application configuration and database changes, not just moving infrastructure.
Testing & maintainability
Introduce automated tests, code-quality checks, and engineering practices that make subsequent changes easier to understand, review, and deploy.
IN PRACTICE
Build linting and code-quality checks were introduced alongside CI/CD in the cloud costs and releases engagement.
03 / WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH
Working software. A practical handover.
Working applications
Useful software, explicit interfaces, and data transformations that preserve business meaning.
Tests & deployment integration
Automated checks and software connected to the environments and delivery workflow it needs.
Maintainable ownership
Implementation documentation, practical knowledge transfer, and a clear path for future changes.
04 / ENGINEERING IN PRACTICE
From fragmented files to explorable data.
A microbiomics research lab had spreadsheets whose field names, formats, and meaning had changed over time. We built a custom Elixir processing pipeline to standardize records, preserve provenance, and support analysis and exploration interfaces—alongside the platform needed to run it.
Comparable research data, traceable transformations, and 60 microservices deployed under GitOps.

RELATED PROJECT
Building-materials producer: application configuration and database interactions were changed to support ephemeral environments and reliable deployments.
05 / HOW THE ENGAGEMENT WORKS
From first assessment to shared ownership.
Discover
Understand users, workflows, data, and the constraints in the existing application.
Architect
Agree on boundaries, interfaces, acceptance criteria, and a useful first delivery.
Build
Build with your team, test behavior, integrate deployment, and review working software regularly.
Enable
Hand over code, documentation, and operating context, with a clear path for subsequent changes.
Focused assessment, implementation project, or ongoing embedded engineering. The model follows the work.
06 / PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
Start with what you already have.
Can you work with our existing stack?
Yes. We begin with the existing codebase, integrations, and operational needs. Modernization does not automatically mean rewriting the application.
How do you work with our internal team?
We work in your repositories and delivery practices, share decisions through reviews, and involve the people who will own the software.
Can you stay involved after delivery?
Yes. Ongoing embedded engineering can help with evolution and maintenance, with priorities and ownership agreed together.
How is scope established?
We map the workflow and technical constraints, then define useful increments, acceptance criteria, integration dependencies, and the handover plan.
